How to Use

  1. Enter your box's internal dimensions (length, width, height) and the thickness of the material you'll be using.
  2. Click "Generate Drawing" to see the panel layout in the preview.
  3. Download as SVG or DXF and import into your laser cutting software (LightBurn, CorelDraw, Illustrator, etc.).
  4. The box is open-top and fully finger-jointed — no glue required anywhere. Assembly order: join the 3 side panels (Front, Left, Back) first, seat the bottom into their base edges, then close and lock the Right panel last.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a finger joint box?

A laser-cut box style where small interlocking tabs and slots along each panel's edges lock together without glue. The zigzag pattern creates a tight, durable joint.

Which materials can I use?

MDF, plywood, acrylic, cardboard, and any other flat sheet material that can be laser cut. Just enter the actual thickness of your material.

Why does kerf matter?

The laser beam vaporizes a thin strip of material as it cuts, which makes parts come out slightly narrower than designed. Entering your kerf value compensates for this so the joints fit snugly.

Should I download SVG or DXF?

Most laser cutting software (LightBurn, CorelDraw, Illustrator, AutoCAD) can open either. DXF is more common in CNC/CAD software; SVG works more easily in web-based tools. If unsure, try both.

Is this tool really free?

Yes, completely free, no sign-up or account required. Generate and download as many drawings as you like.
